Devblog 9 - Polishing week 1
Howdy folks!
This week we started polishing and refining our game, so it goes from cool to freaking awesome. We mainly managed to improve player feedback by alot.
First of all we managed to bring our freeze ray to the next level by adding a ice prison around the player when frozen and some nice particles representing the cone of freezing.
Secondly we added particles to up the oumph factor of the pickups and movement. A couple examples being: Dust particles for pushing, dashing trail, beartrap particles, ...
We also added new jumping, dying and pushing sounds together with a river sound that plays when the players are close to it and some nice environmental ambience to make it all feel more alive.
We also fixed some important issues from last week being the much improved and smoother push and the game loop which now handles the game start and end really well.
By next week we got to fix some animations that are not working properly right now, add more of the particle effects and sounds and make the feel of the game, powerups and gameplay get to that next level.
